Marketing Plans


Over the past four decades, clients of all types have come to us. They have represented a wide variety of industries and have sought our help with many different tasks. While some of these clients have been extremely knowledgeable about marketing in general, most have not had the intimate grasp of which marketing strategy may work best for their goals. In addition, many lack knowledge of available media and their strengths.

Why have a Marketing Plan?

It's not necessary to have a plan but most intelligent business directors try to follow a plan of action in order to achieve a targeted outcome. We are usually approached by new businesses in need of a proven strategy of action. However, it is not uncommon for an established business to seek our services when they feel they have failed to succeed in a certain aspect of their history. One of the most common problems in any business is being too close to the subject to be objective.

Thinking Outside the Box

Sometimes a client's goals may elude the mainstream mode of marketing and call for some creative ideas in order to reach an unusual market or communicate in a unique way. While we encourage clients to participate in the marketing process when they feel so inclined, we do not support ideas which may risk loss of valuable funds or compromise a business image in any way. Our role is always one of providing reliable consultation about the prospects of success in any given strategy. With more than 35 years in the business, our experience offers invaluable insight.

How much do you have to spend?

There is no set formula for establishing an effective budget for a marketing plan. It should be based on what the business can afford to spend to achieve an attainable goal. A marketing plan can encompass a term of six weeks, 6 months or several years. What is important when using a marketing plan is constant vigilance about returns, response and results. If after testing the strategy it seems to need revising in order to address a weakness in response, then a modified or fresh approach may be in order. As with any business investment, monitoring results plays an important role in final outcome and success is affected by so many unknown variables in the market. Stay the course or jump ship? Only experience and wisdom may know best.
